Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

The monthly "Schnittfahrt" is an oceanographic cruise that has been taking place since the 1980s and is embedded in the long-term data series of Helgoland Roads. The research cruise HE 612/1 served as a substitute for the RV Uthorn. Hence, the cruise itself was used for gathering data in the context of the "Schnittfahrten" which is an essential part of the LTO Helgoland Roads. Physical and biological oceanographic samples/data were collected over three days on three transects in the German bight. The working area was the German Bight (southern North Sea). The coordinates are 007 47.5020 E, 54 10.9980 N to 008 23.7000 E, 54 13.6020 N and 008 40.9770 E, 53 54.0117 N. In this area 24 stations on three transects were sampled.
