Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
This cruise was part of the MOSES project, focussing on hydrological extreme events. The overall aim of the cruise was to make in situ observations and collect discrete samples in the region between Cuxhafen abd Helgoland. The work investigates biogeochemical processes in the the Elbe system, including its outflow into the North Sea, and in particular the impacts on ecosystem functioning of hydrologixcal extremes are assessed. This particular cruise is conducted yearly. During this cruise we paid particular emphasis on on the processes along the whole freshwater and marine Elbe system and conducted detailed sampling of pollutants.
