Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

The Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) on behalf of the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) and the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy, respectively, is in charge of the preliminary investigation of sites for future offshore wind farms. The preliminary investigation of sites encompasses, beside others, hydro-acoustic and high-resolution reflection seismic measurements. In order to adapt upcoming tenders to the specific geological conditions of each wind farm area, to refine current geophysical and geotechnical contracts as well as to assess the quality of future offshore campaigns, BSH collects hydro-acoustic and seismic data for planning and reference purposes. In this context high-resolution multichannel seismic datasets – using a Sparker as well as a micro GI pulser as seismic sources – have been recorded in the wind farm areas N-9.3, N-9.4, N-10.1 and N-10.2, according to the Site Development Plan (FEP).
