Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
Monitoring of the Chemical Status of the North Sea (German Bight) with respect to the chemical burden with nutrients and trace metals in the water column. Measurements of alkalinity, pH, chlorophyll-concentrations, phyto- and zooplankton. Detection of Secchi-depth and of oceanographic parameters as salinity and temperature. Atmospheric measurement of the chemical composition of exhaust plumes of passing ships to verify their compliance with local emission limits according to MARPOL Annex VI regulations of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).
