Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

The cruise served to record the medium- and small-scale and temporal variability of benthic communities along natural and anthropogenic environmental gradients within the LEGRA-project. For this purpose, the time series of the benthic FFH-LRT sandbanks and reefs in the German EEZ that began in 2009 were continued. Hereby, special focus was layed on the reefs of the Kadet trench. Based on the widespread biotope types according to the MSFD, the determination of the spatial variability focused on the muddy and sandy areas of the basins and bays, with special focus on the Kiel Bay, resulting in filling the gaps for the mapping of the area.
