Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The main aim of the Baltic International Trawl Survey (BITS) is to determine the year-class strength of the commercially more important fish species in the Baltic Sea. Target data are abundances, weight and length distributions of all fishes and length-weight-age-sex-maturity data of target species as well as hydrographic data (temperature, salinity and oxygen). In addition, marine litter and different biological samples (e. g. stomachs, livers, DNA, etc. from target species) are sampled for national and international studies.
