Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

WH451: As part of the integrated monitoring programme of the Thunen Institute of Fisheries Ecology (FI) on contaminants and biological effects (incl. fish diseases), studies were carried out in two reference areas in the North Sea and ten reference areas in the Baltic Sea. In addition to the onboard examination of Flounder (Platichthys flesus) and Cod (Gadus morhua) for macroscopical externally and internally visible diseases, a large range of fish samples were taken for a subsequent analysis of radioactive contaminants. Furthermore, hydrographical measurements were carried out (water temperature, salinity, oxygen content, turbidity).
