Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
Dana 11-19: The cruise was part of the ICES co-ordinated International Herring Larvae Surveys (IHLS) in 2019/20. The aim is to estimate the distribution and abundance of North Sea herring larvae for assessment purposes. The larvae samples are taken on a standard grid with a station to station distance of approx. 10 nm. Used gear is a modified GULF III plankton sampler (Nackthai). Area of investigation was in the Buchan area, around UK-Scotland and the Orkney-Islands. Sampled were collected on 160 stations. The cruise was conducted as scheduled without any disturbances due to unfavourable weather.
