Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The cruise is part of the ICES coordinated herring larvae surveys, which are carried out in January/February and April to collect recruitment information of the North Sea herring spawning components. This survey covers the German Bight and southern North Sea. In each ICES rectangle (see cruise map) 2 double oblique hauls are made with the 2 meter midwater ringtrawl with mounted CTD. The ringtrawl is fitted with a 1.6 cm and 500 ?m mesh size (the 500 ?m mesh is de last meter of the net). All larvae data are stored in the ICES egg and larvae database.
