Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

Clupea 335: The "Baltic Eagle" wind park will be built in the south-eastern Lake Arkona in the next few years. The construction and operation of the wind parks has an impact on the ecosystem, but these are unclear for many parts of the marine ecosystem. In particular, there has been virtually no reliable scientific research for the Baltic Sea region and the open Arkona Sea. The wind park operator IBERDROLA has expressed its willingness to allow future research by the Thunen Institute in the current wind park. Against this background, this trip served as a first targeted survey of the distribution of pelagic resources in the future wind park area in a summer situation before the construction work of the wind park begins. The distribution of pelagic resources in the area was relatively homogeneous and the abundanzen were relatively low. Sprat dominated in 4 Test catches. Important experience has been gained regarding logistics, feasibility and practical procedures for future monitoring trips with CLUPEA to this area.
