Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
Transit cruise with 3 projects: (a) OceanLight (Determine the above and underwater light in the Pacific Ocean. Validation of underway system of the ship, (b) More-1 (Measuring Ocean REferences Part 1), (c) EqPac co-limit (Resolving nutrient co-limitation of phytoplankton productivity in the Equatorial Pacific) 1: Data acquisition: underwater light profiles (15 stations), surface sampling with Towfish (70 stations), 10 days EM-122, 10 days FerryBox measurements (T,S,Fluo), 10 days reflectance observation. 2: Continuous sampling of atmospheric reference data for aerosols, clouds and trace-gases outside EEZ waters (10 days) 3: 6 d transit, deployment of Towfish outside the EEZs, start of surface sampling, start of underway measurements (T, S, Fluo, Reflectance) and meteorological measurements, recovery of Towfish. In between: underwater light profiles along the transect, 1 d transit to Mexico
