Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The cruise is part of the "Field methods in biological oceanography and fishery science" modul in the UHH MARSYS masters course. The research objective for the students was to quantify the abundance and distribution of pelagic forage fish for gannets and kittywakes, as well as to investigate potential planktonic and hydrographic driving factors. The second task was to collect samples for the quantification of the predation pressure of demersal and benthic fish on the North Sea brown shrimp (Crangon crangon).
