Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The objectives of the cruise were 1) to test the SMIS fleet in the Gotland Basin, and 2) to deploy the profiling mooring GODESS. We left Rostock on the 10th of August directly heading for the Gotland Basin. We arrived in the Gotland Basin and started immediately with the working program. The profiling mooring GODESS was deployed successfully on 15.08.2014 at 57?19.1494' N, 20?08.1198' E. The SMIS trial included acoustical tests using different modems configurations and a test of the AUV. Additionally we took some samples for nutrients and oxygen from the CTD rosette to monitor the concentrations following small salt water intrusion from the North Sea. Almost all of our scheduled work was archieved. We made our way back to Rostock where the vessel arrived in the early morning on 18th of August and the cruise terminated.
