Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The ship time was directly related to the joint project WIMO ("Scientific monitoring concepts for the German Bight", SP 1.1: "Habitat mapping of the sea floor using hydroacoustic means" and research cruises HE364, HE388, HE340, HE352 and HE416. The project aims at improving environmental evaluation of the North Sea by merging multidisciplinary data sets. Various target areas in the German Bight were selected and measured/mapped using hydroacoustic gear. During this cruise the following areas were surveyed: ?Helgoland Sud", ?Helgoland NW", ?Helgoland Mud Area", ?Steingrund", ?Amrumbank", ?Theeknobs" (see map).
