Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

The goal of the project NOAH is to setup spatially resolved ecosystem models that are able to estimate (i) trophic transfer to higher trophic levels, (ii) bentho-pelagic coupling and especially (iii) spatio-temporal variability in ecosystem structure and function. Thus, the spatial-temporal variability of the functioning and structure of the ecosystem North Sea was examined during the cruise. In the second leg of the cruise a transect was sampled from Helgoland to Stonehaven (UK) to determine the size spectrum of zooplankton and its productivity, as well the distribution and condition of fish larvae.
