Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
High resolution seismic measurements of the shallow seafloor were carried out within the center of the German Bight in the German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). Resolution for the Chirp Sonar device extended to 5 - 20 m below seafloor, depending on soil properties. Furthermore, three sediment cores of six meters each were taken from the upper part of the seafloor. Data are in use to decipher large scale properties of the upper seafloor in the German Bight. Additionally, two wave rider buoys were exchanged near the island of Heligoland and the platform FINO1.
