Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The cruise served as PRACTICAL AT SEA for the students of Biological Ocenaography at the GEOMAR Kiel. The objective was to give an impression of the scientific work onboard of a research vessel. For that purpose, measurements of the hydrography, nutrient chemistry, and the plankton composition as well as benthos investigations with grab, dredge, a hydroprobe and video were done. The journey led from the Kiel Bay with moderate salinities into the Kattegatt/Skagerak with high salinities to Frederikshavn where the scientific personel was changed. From there the cruise went back to Kiel.
