Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The cruise was intended to investigate the hydrography, abundance and distribution of zooplankton, ichthyoplankton and adult fish within the main spawning area of eastern Baltic cod. This cruise is part of a German, Danish and Polish cooperation. Therefore, following main methods will be applied: - hydrographic sampling (CTD with oxygen) - zooplankton sampling using a Bongo-plankton-gear (different meshsizes, up to 750?m) - hydroacoustic measurement using a scientific echosounder SIMRAD EK60 - trawl fishing to evaluate the species and length-distribution of fishes, seen in the echosounder - fish sampling for length and weight measurements, age determination and diet investigations, trawling for juvenile fish stages - calibration of the echosounder during the survey (sheltered area is needed)
