Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The objective of the cruise was to constrain the potential rates of carbon seepage from the seafloor due to different geological processes. In the first study area (Gjallar Ridge) we investigate seepage due to volcanic intrusions. In the second area we aquired seismic and electromagnetic data to map the distribution of gas hydrate to understand the processing controlling gas hydrate accumulation.
