Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The 2011 Winter Crangon Survey (WCS) is part of a time series started in 1991 to monitor regional distribution and abundance of brown shrimp (Crangon crangon) in wintertime in the German Bight and adjacent areas along Danish and Dutch coasts. SOLEA cruise 650 was the first of two cruises in that programme in 2012. Besides shrimp all by-catch taxa were registered by species and weight as well as by numbers caught, partly sub sampling. The survey resulted in records of 33 fish species and 23 recorded invertebrate taxa. 20 stations were sampled. CTD data were collected but had to be rejected due to handling mistake.
