Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

Objectives: - Collection of zooplankton, surface sediments (multi-corer) and sediment gravity sediment cores in four working areas in the Ligurian Sea primariy paleoclimatic and paleoceanographic studies. - We expect that these new records will provide important information on Holocene and last glacial changes in continental rainfall and surface ocean conditions and will allow to establish relationships to regional oceanographic changes as well as to large-scale atmospheric variability. Narrative of cruise: - Transit from Messina to the Strait of Corsica; 1st working area Strait of Corsica; - 2nd working area Eastern Ligurian Sea; 3rd working area central Gulf of Genoa; 4th working area: western Ligurian Sea . All working areas in Italian waters.
