Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

Zoobenthos sampling in the German Bight The cruise was part of the macrobenthos long-term research of AWI Wattenmeerstation Sylt. We quantify the natural variability of benthos and the physical environment in order to (1) reveal the long-term (decadal) trends, and (2) enable reasonable hypotheses regarding causes and effects between benthos and environment. This is achieved by sampling an area of some 8,000 km? with 100 sampling stations spread from Helgoland to the Danish border every year in September (since 2004).
