Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
Investigations with a horizontal splitted cover enclosed a BACOMA 120/105 codend to find out the favoured direction of fish escape. Furthermore the selection parameters (Selection length L50, Selection range SR) from the BACOMA device was calculated. Basic short-term estimations obtained a L50= 46,4 cm and a SR= 15,6 cm for cod, and for dab a L50= 23,3 cm and a SR= 4,8 cm. Thats resulted in the case if the escaping window was above. The cod end was turned with the window below and the selection parameters changed L50= 43,3 cm; SR= 9,2 cm for cod and L50= 21,9 cm; SR= 5 cm for dab.
