Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

Summary: This cruise was the first after the decision, that future cruises should be performed in only 4 days; it was possible only due to good weather conditions. According to the new program, 64 CTD stations, 11 BIO stations, 1 WQ station and ADCP in transects underway was planned. The new shortened program was fulfilled, but one CTD station (H021) was cancelled due to ice on the sea surface in Langeland Belt. In Langeland belt a mixed water column was observed, in the area around Darss transect a halocline in 15-18 meters dept was determined. In the alignment area 2(south)-3(north) haloclines were observed. In the surface salinity was 10-14 PSU and temperature between 0 and -1 degree C. In the bottom layer salinity was around 11-14 PSU and temperature -1-0 degree C.
