Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The major objective of this cruise was to acquire new geoscientific data in the Greenland part of North Baffin Bay between Disco Island in the South and Kane Basin in the North. The data will be used for modelling the evolution of the Greenland continental margin and to study its hydrocarbon potential. By means of seismic, gravimetric, and magnetic, including aeromagnetic methods the structural inventory of the Greenland margin was investigated. Heatflow measurments were conducted and sediment cores were extracted for subsesquent geochemical and geomicrobiological analyses.
