Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

In the frame of a training course with students, realized from scientists of the Baltic Sea Research Institute of Warnemunde, sampling methods and the handling of samples for physical, chemical and biological investigations were demonstrated. For this reason, two daily cruises within the river Warnow and in the coastal area in front of Warnemunde (stations 41,42, 43, and 44 ) were performed 16. 02. And 17. 02 2010. Vertical profiles of temperature, salinity, oxygen and chlorophyll fluorescence were measured using a CTD equipped with chlorophyll sensors. Water samples for Chlorophyll, oxygen concentrations obtained with chemical analysis and phosphate were taken in three or 5 depth depending from the water depth. The cruises started at 8 am and ended at 4.30 pm each day in the harbour of Marienehe.Nine students of the University of Rostock as well as 3 scientists and 3 technicians participated at the cruise each day.
