Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

The purpose of the cruise was to investigate the Status Quo of selected areas for several projects: DeFi_av: investigating the influence of offshore wind farms on the distribution of fish and mega-epibenthos; AWI Long-term Series (OBR): long-term changes of several communities (infauna, epifauna, demersal fishes), in dependence of abiotic factors and including biotic interactions. RESPONSE: investigating the influence of fishery cessation on the recovery of benthic invertebrate communities The following gears were employed: CTD (vertical profiles) 0.1m? van Veen grab (macrozoobenthic infauna; sediment characteristics) 3 m beamtrawl (invertebrate epifauna and demersal fishes); ottertrawl (demersal fishes) pelagic trawl (pelagic fishes) Nansen-plankton-net (zooplankton) bottom video (epifauna and bottom characteristics) ship-based horizontal echo-sounder (pelagic fish) diver operated sampling (hard substrate epifauna) light sensor (light attenuation in the pelagial) vertical EK60 echo-sounder (pelagic fish)
