Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

National Monitoring Programs are consisted of three parts:\n\n1. Monitoring of the quality of coastal waters,\n2. Monitoring of the quality of the water for living and growing of marine molluscs\n3. National Monitoring Programme within the framework of the Programme for the Assessment and Control of Pollution in the Mediterranean Region (MED POL) - Phase III. \n\nThe first two programmes are designed to monitor the chemical status, including some biological parameters, of coastal and territorial marine waters (program 1)and to monitor the quality of water for living and growing of marine organisms - mainly shellfish (program 2).\nThe content of the third program is in accordance with UNEP/MED-POL PHASE III programme, taking into account natural characteristics of the marine environment (enclosed sea, sensitive area) and total inputs from land-based sources of pollution. All programs are structered and financed by the Environmental Agency of the Republic of Slovenia (Ministry of Environment).
