Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

INFORMAR Survey: The Marine Institute works in partnership with the Geological Survey of Ireland (GSI) on the Irish National Seabed Survey (INSS), a multimillion European initiative supported by the Irish government. The survey aims to map Ireland's 220 million acres of territorial seafloor, a natural resource that is approximately ten times the size of Ireland's land area. This INFOMAR Survey is concentrating on the shallower waters of Zone 1 as in between the coastline and the 50m contour. Survey area for this cruise included Bantry Bay and Dunmanus Bay off the south-west coast of Ireland. \n
