Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The purpose of leg SO188-1 was to collect multichannel seismic data, sediment echosounder (Parasound) data, swath sounding data and geological samples from different regions of the Bengal Fan to supply an IODP proposal, to study the general stratigraphy of the fan as well as the architecture and morphology of different channel-levee systems in detail.
