Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
One of a series of interdisciplinary geo-archaelogical cruises to study the Litorina transgression in the southern Baltic Sea and its impact on prehistoric settlements and development of the regional economic area Main tasks: Search for outcrops of organic sediment layers at the sea bottom, especially with plant remnants, in water depths from 10 to 22 m, using sidescan sonar surveys, underwater videocamera surveys, and research-diver observations. Recover selected wood samples for dating and organic sediment samples for interdisciplinary investigations. Search for archaelogical artefacts.
