Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
RADIS stands for Reverberation, Attenuation and Detection In the Sediment and is the name of a resaerch project of FWG in the field of the detection of buried mines. Objective of the radis experiment is to gain more information about transmission loss and reverberation of different sediments as well as the relative target strength of buried objects, These mentioned properties are crucial for determining the performance of modern mine hunting sonars against buried objects. During the sea trial final measurements in order to complete the parameter set were planned. At the end of the cruise buried objects and measurement devices were retrieved to have them available for further experiments.
