Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The investigations are used for the decrease of discards in the trawl fishing of Baltic Sea. A raised footrope trawl was tested. The trawl net design substantially reduced catch rates of flatfish. A cut-back headline trawl was proved to reduce the by-catch of cod when fishing for flats.
