Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The ECOMED 2006 is an annual echosurvey for estimation of the abundance and biomass of small pelagic fish present in the Mediterranean Sea in autum, at the beginning of spawning period for the sardine (Sardina pilchardus) and the recruitmen period for the anchovy (Engraulis encrasicolus).These main species are sardine and anchovy, but on estimed also Sardinella aurita, Trachurus mediterraneus, T. trachurus, T. picturatus, Boops boops, Scomber japonicus and Scomber scomber.
