Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The cruise was done in the frame of the German national project QUANTAS in cooperation with scientists from Danish, Swedish, and Polish oceanographic institutions. It aimed at a study of the propagation and mixing of saltwater in the Arkona Basin after crossing the Darss Sill and the Drogden Sill. The pathways and the spatial structure of the saltwater distribution were observed by CTD stations, towed CTD, and vessel mounted ADCP and the mixing by dissipation profilers and a special configured bottom mounted ADCP.
