Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The RPII implements a marine monitoring programme in accordance with national legislation and in fulfilment of international obligations entered into under the Euratom Treaty and OSPAR. The purpose of this programme is to monitor levels of artificial radioactivity in the marine environment, and inclueds the routine collection and analysis of seawater, sediment, seawood, fish and shellfish from a number of coastal locations. The RV Celtic Voyager facilitates the colleciton of seawater and sediment from specific offshore locations in the western Irish Sea.
