Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
Purpose of these two cruises was to conduct an intercalibration/comparative fishing between the old vessel and her successor, to allow a continuation of regularly conducted surveys without risking a break in the time series collated over the last 30 years by the old Solea. After a first evaluation of the data recorded (pelagic and demersal trawling and acoustic surveying), it became obvious that this exercise was not sufficient to ensure a seamless transition between the two vessels. Attempts will be undertaken to repeat at least the acoustic intercalibration in the near future.
