Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

The cruise set out to collect a wide-angle seismic refelction - seismic refraction dataset across the Porcupine Basin. This data will allow the crustal structure of the basin to be determined at various latitudes, corresponding to different amounts of extension. The resulting sections should reveal both the symmetry of crustal structure, and how this changes with increasing amounts of extension. A total of 5 profiles were collected, as indicated in the attached map. Simultaneously a marine gravimeter logged the changes in gravity across the basin. Data collected 1. seismic recordings by ocean bottom seismometers 2. marine gravity
