Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
- Sampling for mackerel larvae and juveniles to study the distribution in relation to the physical environment - Description of growth and condition of mackerel larvae and juveniles in relation to the physical environment - Collection of data to parameterise and validate a bio-physical transport model of mackerel early life history stages - Description of the mesopelagic fish community close to the shelf edge Sampling was done on a large scale grid in the Celtic Sea and Porcupina Bank area. Mesopelagic fish community was studied on selected stations close to the shelf edge. 1 port of call: CORK: 8th - 10th July, 1999. Rendevouz of RRV Callenger.
