Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
Geological study - sample collections - and geophysical tasks for the determination of high precision ages of each volcanic edifices along the Hawaii Seamount Chain. A. Systematic sampling of volcanic rock from 17 selected edifices along the Hawaii Seamount Chain 1. Reconstruct the geochemical evolution of the Hawaii hotspot. 2. Radiometric dating 40Ar/30Ar incremental heating technique. B. Hydroacoustic and magnetic data were continuously recorded.
