Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

The cruise focused on the investigation of regional and vertical differences of plankton communities. In particular, the following goals were studied: 1) Short-term variability of the vertical distribution pattern of zooplankton at a fixed station in the Skagerrak. 2) Differences in composition, vertical distribution and abundance of zooplankton alone the Norway Deep between the inner Skagerrak and 61?N and in comparison with the central northern North Sea. 3) Age structure and vertical distribution of calanus finmarchicus in different parts of the Norway Deep and northern North Sea. 4) Regional and vertical differences in copepod respiration rates and eeg production rates.
