Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
Description:\nPRISMA-2 research activity aimed to deepen the results obtained within PRISMA-1 (Seasonal longitudinal fluxes of physical and biogeochemical fields) at smaller spatio-temporal scales (mesoscale).\nIn particular PRISMA-2 is addressed at the determination of physical and mesoscale structure (fronts, eddies and filaments) in the basin scale dynamic.\nNational Research Program for the Adriatic Sea.\nThe investigation area was in front of delta Po river (44?20'-italian coastN, italian coast-13?60'E)\nThe spring oceanographic cruise was conducted over 4 legs, with the following calendar:\nPhase 1: 11/05-15/05, collected 117 CTD profiles\nPhase 2: 19/05-21/05, collected 27 CTD profiles\nPhase 3: 15/06-20/06, collected 107 CTD profiles\nPhase 4: 21/06-25/06, collected 37 CTD profiles\nCTD data were collected with SBE 911 Plus probe with pressure, temperature, conductivity and dissolved oxygen sensors.\nwater samples for nutrients, dissolved oxygen, trace metals in particulate suspended matter phytoplancton and primary production determinations were collected during phase 2 and 4.\nBasin wide current field survey was csrried out with ship-born ADCP.\nTwo autorecording NBA mod. DNC-2B current meters were moored close to piattaforma Amelia (Ravenna).
