Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
One of a series of cruises to study: a) The effects of SE-Asian Monsoon climate on present-day fluxes of particulates in the South China Sea. b) The depositional processes and ecological consequences of tephra falls from the 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatubo in the south china sea. Main tasks: I) Recover and redeploy moorings (sediment traps) II) Hydrographic and nutrient measurements III) Coring of the pinatubo ash layer
