Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
On the cruise Alkor 136 the focus lies on benthos biological and biogeochemical investigations on Eckernforde Bay sediments. The seasonal situation was of special interest since sediments are overlain by thick fluff layers which consists of organic material settled in summer which had not been degraded yet. This surface eutrophication prohibits oxygen to diffuse into the sediment and thus remains a strict sub and anoxic milieu.
