Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
One of a series of physical oceanographic cruises to study: long-term changes in watermass characteristics and distribution along 48?N in the Atlantic, estimate transports of heat and freshwater, estimate exchanges between the subtropical and sub-polar-gyres in the Atlantic as part of WOCE fieldwork (A2/AR19), and the deployment current meter moorings west of the Mid-Atlantic-Ridge (MAR). Task: work transoceanic hydrographic section along ca. 48?N of WHP standards. Recovered two current meter moorings K1 and K3.
