Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

Most of the research conducted during cruise 42/4 was related to the EU-project CANIGO. Another goal of this cruise was the testing of deep-sea research device in the frame work of the BMBF-project DOMEST. Next to equipment-testing and mooring work the water column was sampled with CTD/Rosette, multinet and in-situ-pumps and the sediments were sampled with boxcorer/multicorer and gravity/pistoncorer. In addition the european situation for time-series in the ocean, Canary Islands was sampled for the months september/octobre.
