Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

Purpose of the cruise was the investigation of atmospheric components (gaseous, solid, in solution) in order to get more information about the processes by which atmospheric components are emitted, converted and deposited in marine atmosphere. Besides RV "P.A. Penck" a second RV "A.v. Humboldt" and four of coastal stations were involved in this experiment of LAGRANGE type. Area of investigations was the southern part of the Baltic Sea and ships were positioned according to air mass trajectories and meteorological information supplied by meteorologists at GKSS, Germany, and FMI, Finland.
