Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

V153 was part of the EU SEFOS programme and was carried out by the IFMHH in collaboration with MLPLYM (GB) and UCG (Ireland). The main purpose of the cruise was to repeat and extend oceanographic and biological meas. along 5 zonal sections of 1994 V144-1 cruise (investigations on the extent and strength of the european shelfedge current, the circulation in the Porcupine Bank/Seabight area, spatial variations in water mass characteristics, biological studies on the sefos target fish species.
