Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
One of a full-year series of seasonal oceanographical cruises to study the hudrology of the South Aegean Sea and the Straits of the Cretan Arc. Sampling for biogeochemical conditions of the area. In addition, ADCP measurements carried out at stations across the straits to provide information about the upper layer water fluxes (<200m). Recovering and redeployment of two mooring systems, consisting of sediment traps and current meters, to obtain quantitative and qualitative data on suspended particles, downword particle fluxes and transport through the Western Strait of the Cretan Arc.
