Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
Geophysical exploration of an hitherto unknown ocean region. Marine geological exploration of continental margin sediments. Both 1 and 2 are to be seen in the context of paleoclimate studies. Sea ice studies in combination with remote sen- sing applications. Studies of benthic and pelagic fauna in an attempt to gather first data sets from the regions. Oceanographic measurements.
